The New Twinset

I think the last time I wore something akin to a twinset was in 2003 when we were all obsessed with multi-coloured lace-trimmed cardigans and vests (why though) from Ad Hoc on the Kings Road. Living up north, that was a VERY exotic purchase I might ad. Best worn with trackie bums and embroidered, embellished Aladdin slippers (the more destroyed the better).

But here I am in 2018 on the cusp of Spring, back into cardigans in a big way. I’ve always liked big, chunky cardigans like this and this over camis and tees over the years but I haven’t worn a button down cardigan over a white tee for as long as I can remember. And yet it’s suddenly all I want to wear. I think it’s something about the combination of layered buttons with a V-neck cardigan and a button down biker that I find really pleasing. A little bit Party of Five, a little bit old man at the pub… To me, the white t-shirt actually makes it a bit cooler when layered under a jacket or coat too. Don’t ask me why, just hear me when I come clean and confess my love for buttoned up cardis
