I might come across as something of an eternal sun worshipper on this blog at times, but believe it or not, when it comes to being at home, I love winter dressing above all else. Piling on layer upon layer of shearling, leather and knitwear feels like my kind of power dressing by day and by night, this time of year is the best excuse to indulge my soft spot for disco-ball lurex and Le Smoking suiting.
So when Reiss asked me to style and shoot an edit of key pieces for AW 16, I knew immediately what I had in mind. When I went into store to check out Reiss’s new collection, I quickly had a literal pile in the changing room, all of which was made for embracing long nights and cold days. Roll-neck jumpers you want to bury your face in, leather trousers begging to be tucked into biker boots and no end of thick, shearling coats John Snow would be proud of are just a few of the stand out pieces from Reiss I chose to wear and feature. The butteriest, softest textures in classic, neutral colours with contemporary twists; the whole collection is speaking my language when it comes to get dressed from now until Spring. I absolutely loved styling and being in this shoot; all of the looks feel like they’ve stepped out of my existing wardrobe (albeit better, shinier, fluffier versions) and I’d be hard pushed to pick a favourite look or piece. Well ok then, if I had to, it might have to be that lurex dress and biker jacker or the amazing black shearling jacket…
I did a little Q&A with Reiss as part of this collaboration which is over on their sight now so head on over there for more from on set.
