Four Christmases

From stocking opening to champagne-clinking, this is pretty much what would be in my dream suitcase for the holidays. Four outfits for every bit of your Christmas break….

Christmas Morning

Whether you’re up at six or lounging around till 10, pyjamas are a Christmas morning staple. While you might be more a boxers and baggy t-shirt girl for the rest of the year, come Christmas you want epic pjs that don’t scare the in-laws and you can happily hang out in until noon. Just add cashmere socks, moisturiser that means business for knackered skin (aren’t we all by now) and a scented candle to kick start the festive spirit.

Christmas Lunch

This is basically my dream skirt. I included it in my recent Holiday edit and am just obsessed. A little bit of sparkle on classic black leather and looks perfect with Breton stripes and thick tights (because right now there’s no other option). This is how I like to do Christmas… A little bit fancy while still being comfortable and low-key. And if doubt, Mac’s Lady Danger always wins for a daytime red. I also think something akin to this suede dress look would be ideal for Christmas… Still one of my favourites of 2015.

Boxing Day Walk

I spend Christmas holed up in the country and pulling on coats and boots for a long walk with the dogs, no matter what the weather, has been ingrained in me since I was small. Walking off the excesses of Christmas day is a bit of a tradition at home and after a gluttonous 25th, Boxing Day is normally devoted to the great outdoors (if only to make room for more turkey).

Cocktail Hour

From Christmas parties to New Years Eve, we all need to bulk out the ‘going out’ section of our closets at this time of year. That particular section of my wardrobe is normally pretty lacking, relying solely on a red lip and block heel occasionally to make me look a bit more ‘done’… But with some shiny new extras, suddenly leather trousers and black jeans look brand new again. I like to keep sequins black and rely on clashing textures for impact rather than anything that bares too much skin. Rose gold is my go-to at this time of year, which is exactly why I designed my new Missoma collection in it – it’s just that bit more flattering at this time of year than yellow or silver on paler-than-normal skin. Don’t forget 20% of each sale goes to the charity Wellbeing of Women too so you can give back while gaining something starry. Win win.
