Sunglasses & (Faux) Fur
The word ‘glamour’ doesn’t really enter into my vocabulary very often. Devoid of blow dries and manicures, I’m the person that walks into a swanky lunch and immediately wishes I’d brushed my hair. But there’s one little combination that will always make me feel that bit closer to the G word…
There’s something about sunglasses and fur (faux and from the high street in this case) in the winter that feels inherently old Hollywood. Even if you’re wearing nothing else of note, there’s something about it that just feels kind of great on one of those crisp, Autumn mornings. It makes you feel expensive even when the coat isn’t and gives you that air ‘I mean business’, even if that business is just running out for coffee. And there’s no denying the Seventies vibe of this coat and boots; I feel like the love child of Brigitte Bardot and Sean Connery as the black polo neck-wielding Bond, which would be a pretty amazing love child I think you’ll agree. In an effort to not look like I’m off to a fancy dress party, I kept everything else black, grey and low-key. I love the idea of blue denim cropped flares with this but for an everyday, easy look that I’d actually wear on the reg, I stayed true to my grey ripped skinnies that I’ll never tire of.
