With the onslaught of coat season, there are a few I rely upon year after year.
A faithful camel belted number, a grey crombie, a 70s style suede and shearling jacket and an all-important duvet-like parka. The kind of thing I can shrug on first thing in the morning to grab milk and dry-cleaning, wrap up in to watch fireworks and throw the hood up smugly when it starts to drizzle.
While I love the feeling of a tailored, mannish coat to pull everything together, down days are my favourite kind of days so anything that says ‘weekend’ to me is a winner, case in point this Topshop parka. It’s only when I’m hidden beneath it’s layers of khaki and faux fur that I can get on board with early mornings, long train journeys and Autumn’s chill. Teamed with loose-fit jeans and Vans, this is the kind of get-up you’ll find me in come Saturday when cinema, burgers and long walks are the only things on the agenda…
