There are many things we’ve got Sweden to thank for. Meatballs and lingonberries, cinnamon buns, the thrill of a pink Acne carrier bag and lots of great blonde inspiration to show your colourist.
And another great thing to emerge from Sweden is the concept of Fika, the act of taking and savouring time over coffee and pastries or biscuits. A much-needed mentality in today’s grab-and-go culture… And one of my favourite Scandi-inspired London brands has brought the concept of Fika to the heart of Covent Garden at their debut store. There’s not many a post on this blog when I’m without my Larsson & Jennings watch so it’s fair to say I’m a big fan of the brand and the people behind it, so was very excited when they took their timepieces from online to the realm of bricks and mortar so you can try before you buy.
And what better place than a watch store in which to take time over coffee, because let’s be honest, sometimes making a purchase needs a bit of pondering, umming, ahhing and caffeine… So next time you’re passing through Seven Dials, pop into L&J’s Fika bar on Monmouth Street for a cup of coffee to stay.
