Desert Dweller
Jamie and I have racked up 10 flights between us in the last month, none of which have been together and all of which seem to have been at silly o’clock in the morning. Needless to say, after a summer of snatched moments together, we’re in need of a quick getaway to do as little as possible, bury ourselves in books and catch-up over long dinners.
So on Wednesday we’ll be heading to Oman for 5 days of nothing… We’re incredibly excited to get away but the thought of 38 degrees has slightly thrown me when fashion week fatigue has me dreaming of cashmere tracksuits, bowls of soup and slippers. Rock & Roll.
So in an effort to get my head in the heat game, I’m looking to breezy cover-ups, throw-on dresses and poolside slides. Something about winter sun holidays makes me want to be more neutral in my packing tendencies, probably because as a palette it’s all a bit more forgiving on pale skin and let’s you ease back into that summer feeling gradually. We’ll be going to India in late November so from now I’m constantly on the look out for those long, loose shapes that’ll keep me covered and respectful without overheating and looking like an oversized backpacker. The Toteme trousers and Faithfull shirt in particular might just be musts for both trips….
