An Oldie but a Goodie

FMN | Move Over Stripes - 2

As a sentimental hoarder with a weakness for nostalgia, Topshop’s latest launch is one I can definitely get behind…

Have you ever lost a favourite, irreplaceable high street purchase or wished a store would bring back those perfect jeans or the skirt you never quite got your hands on. I have most definitely had to swallow that particularly bitter pill several times, so Topshop’s decision to bring back some favourite pieces for its new Archive collection immediately resonated with me. Not only have they brought back a core collection of retro staples, they’re also giving people the opportunity to have their personal Topshop icons re-made in the next Archive offering. All you have to do is post an instagram of your oldest, most-prized Topshop possession with #BringThatBack and @Topshop to be in with the chance of the Toppers team taking note and breathing new life into old favourites.

Mine would most definitely be my first ever black biker jacket that I bought from Topshop in 2006 I think. I wore it to death for at least five years until the entire lining eventually just evaporated from old age. I remember taking it out with me every night when I was university and once having a total hissy fit when someone picked up the wrong jacket and took mine home with them… Thankfully my devotion was such that I managed to track it down and get it back into my loving clutches. I think it might still be hanging up in my bedroom at my parents’ house in fact… If that’s not worth a ‘gram I don’t know what is.
