Return of the Poncho
I’ve been championing the current seventies redux ever since Chloe sent its summer of love down the runway last September, and I feel like this look is the culmination of months worth of retro ruminating. Give me snakeskin, give me fringed suede, give me classic aviators and call me Marianne is basically the gist of this one.
I haven’t worn a poncho since I came back from Ecuador 10 years ago. I lived in a market-bought knitted black number, not that dissimilar to this one, for about a week after I got back, before realising rural England wasn’t quite ready for my ethnic statement and conceded defeat. So I’m super happy to legitimately be able to slip into an armless-wonder once more, only this time I went at it all guns blazing and gave it a get-up Farrah would be proud of.
My old Ecuadorian buy has been well and truly usurped by this one too, the one in question being the limited edition ‘Poncho Voyage’ from one my favourite French brands Maje. There are only 200 of these in production and it goes on sale officially tomorrow (March 7th) for one day and one day only… However, for you guys, I’ve got a special preview link so you can shop the Poncho before the masses right now. Yep, you get an extra day to snap up this slice of 70s heaven at this link right here.
Dare you to give it a whirl in every sense of the word.
