Last Day in the Coconut Grove

The second instalment from our dreamy 3 days at Amanwella.

You’ll notice from the pictures that there’s never another soul in the shots which is part of the appeal of Amanwella if you want to totally get away from it and others. Even dinner around the other guests felt totally private with many slinking off to bed by 9 p.m. Not a place for party animals maybe… I love meeting new people on holiday but equally there’s something relaxing and selfishly indulgent about being able to relax and eat without having to make polite chitchat, not to mention having the entire shoreline to yourself a lot of the time. Does that make me sound really mean and cynical? Probably.

Anyway, without further ado, here’s the rest of our snaps from our stay. We milked our final day as much as we could, messing around on the beach as the afternoon shadows got longer and longer before eventually declared defeat, showering off the sand and climbing into our taxi at sundown.

My dream beach cover-up from Mochi. I don’t actually think it’s meant to be worn like this but I love anything that cuts straight across the shoulders like this.

Bikini | Asceno by Beautiful Bottoms

Shell huntin’ and wave runnin’. Can you get how enormous they were from that last picture?! That was taken on one of those disposable waterproof cameras you can get from Boots – next time you go on holiday please get one. SO much fun.

I wasn’t 100% sure about this bikini to begin with but really wanted something with regular straps rather than a halter neck so decided to give it a go. It ended up being my absolute favourite and was way more flattering than the bandeaus I usually go for. It kind of feels 90s and Calvin Klein in its inception too which is always a good thing.

The hotel had it’s very own black labrador called Nero. Look how happy he is! English dogs have it easy; Nero had recently been in the wars after losing against an iguana’s tail in a fight… Ouch.
