Back From The Tropics
After a long old (I say old literally here. The plane was basically an antique) flight, we landed back in blighty yesterday after an incredible two weeks in beautiful, tropical, colourful Sri Lanka. I feel like we just touched the surface of this amazing country and could have happily had another few weeks exploring the length and breadth of the island. We’ve come back with an even longer list of places to go and things to do than when we went out there… There’s just never quite enough time is there?
You might have to bear with me for a little while this week while I go through over 8000 photos from the trip (yes really), but I can’t wait to share it all with you once I’ve got on top of everything. But for now, I thought I’d give just a very small taster of what’s to come…
Brightly painted Buddhist temples, swaying palm trees, lush tea plantations, historical forts, Arrack-laced sundowners, street markets groaning with pineapples and pots of curd and possibly the most wonderful beach I’ll ever step foot on.
Oh and on a side note, I got a new camera before I left (an early Christmas present from my mum and dad) and am totally obsessed. It’s the Sony RX100 II so check it out if you’re interested in all the techy stuff that I won’t bore you with here.
