Plastic Fantastic
‘High shine’ is not normally a phrase I’d apply to any part of me. Even my hair struggles to to maintain the tiniest bit of sparkle even though I coat it in conditioner and Moroccan oil. But despite normally being pretty polish-free, I’ve been loving anything black and patent of late and these boots are case in point. I kind of followed the rule ‘if it fits buy six’ and got these Aldo boots in both materials when I hosted the brand’s FNO event in September (you might have clocked the suede ones here). I love the pointy shape and I kind of think that when it gets into deepest, darkest winter and I live in all-black, these guys will break up the monotony a little bit. But for now they work with everything and anything, from retro blue wash jeans to bare ankles and A-line midi skirts.
I posted a shot of these boots and jeans on instagram last week and my mum made a point of telling me she ‘didn’t like that one at all’. So sorry mum, not one for you maybe, but I kind of love the combination of 70s frayed blue jeans with the moddish 60s booties. And in other news, how great is the extra long back of this shirt? Perfect for concealing any kind of ‘mum bum’ situation these jeans might have going on….
