Beauty
Clean & Simple
After an adolescence of bath bombs, frosted lipstick and glitter pots, I’ve come to the conclusion that with beauty products, simplicity rules…. My bathroom is pretty much a shrine to lotions and potions but the ones with longevity are inevitably those that work for you rather than the other way round, combining high-tech, active ingredients with clean, simple packaging that doesn’t bombard you with adjectives.
These are four new products I’ve been using recently and I think they’ll be staying in my life for the long term. From an aesthetic point of view, I’m a sucker for monochrome branding and graphic-free labels, but these aren’t just style over substance. The Verso day cream and Sachajuan Hair Repair (one of my favourite scandi hair brands) came to me via the Net-A-Porter beauty box, a great idea for those who like the idea of trying before you buy. Both do exactly what their names suggest and smell and feel great while at it.
The summer box is now sold out but the Autumn one should be coming out shortly…
After an amazing facial with Gazelli Skincare recently, they sent me home with this radiance-boosting face mist and I’ve been dousing myself in the stuff ever since. Through sheer forgetfulness, I’m not normally one for toning, but put it in spray from and I’m all over it. And I will admit all those it genuinely does make a difference to the quality of your skin too…. You just need to check out Gazelli’s founders’ insane skin to be converted.
Lastly is Perricone MD Photo Plasma, an SPF 30 update on my much-loved Deep Moisture Therapy. It’s no secret I love me a tan, but the older I get, the more aware I am of using proper, good quality UV protection on a daily basis. I wear 50 on my face when sunbathing but this is perfect for everyday when out and about in London.
