Staycation Dreaming

Thanks to our unpredictable weather, a staycation in the U.K isn’t something I’d usually champion. In fact, I’m normally that disenchanted person plotting crazed plans to emigrate to Greece/California/Bali/all of the above as soon as it starts raining. But, after a lovely two and 1/2 weeks in France, I’m now back in blightly for a while and really looking forward to visiting friends and family in Wales throughout August. There’s something quietly nostalgic about pottering about on boats with friends, beach barbeques in thick knits and baerfoot walks on cold, rippled sand. Fearing for my own sanity just writing that…

Saying that, it would be great if this heatwave could last just a few more weeks…. O.K, maybe I haven’t changed that much after all. A roomie holdall (this is top of my wishlist right now), jersey basics, loose denim and no-fuss beauty essentials are all you need for a weekend of simple pleasures by the sea.
