Into the Blue

L1004325

Ask me my favourite colour and from the age of about five, the reply has always been blue. Must be that obsession with azure skies and seas…. But despite my palette preferences, there’s always been a distinct lack of it in my wardrobe, with blue existing solely through piles of washed denim and bikinis. Recently though, blue’s come back into my life in a big way. First through an ever-increasing obsession with navy (so good with black), and now with this Blake LDN vest. Yet another example of summer knitwear done just right (beginning to see another personal preference emerging here).

I’ve always considered myself a certified non-pastel wearer (although Blake and Whistles AW 14 collection have definitely gone someway in converting me) and yet this tank just works. With wide-leg pants, the ultimate slides and a laptop-wielding tote bag, pale blue is suddenly firmly in my comfort zone. The slightly sporty-shape feels clean, contemporary and far removed from the girly, sugary connotations normally associated with sorbet shades.

Saying that, it’s just as good dressed down with ripped-up jeans and espadrilles, a trio I’ll be living in just as soon as I touch down on French soil later this week.
