Grey Summer

While my fantasy online shopping baskets are currently full of ikat prints, bikinis, floppy hats and backless playsuits, realistically summer in the city requires little more than some open toes and loose shirts to update the year round uniform.

A classic white collared shirt is a deservedly cliched summer basic, and one of the most contradictory pieces of clothing you’ll ever wear. Manly and oversized, it’ll make you feel feminine and androgynous all at once. My kind of multi-tasker. Finished off with the ultimate in Marmite footwear (yes even more than Birkenstocks I think. At least they’re reasonably affordable), this is the kind of get-up I’ll no doubt be living in on grey-tinged summer days. Seriously though, any slide haters out there, I dare you to try a pair. If you are anything like me and a sucker for comfort, I bet you won’t be able to take ’em off. Weirdly flattering too….
