Winter Dresses to Wear Inside Now
I have a clinical aversion to black tights (just me, or do they always look navy?!) but a really love for a good dress of late, the two of which don’t really gel when it comes to winter dressing. Hence I spend most of the winter ensconced in leather trousers or jeans and little else. But recently, a few dresses too good not to wear straight away came into my life and I decided I’d just ramp up the central heating and just brave a bare leg. Plus, I chose these frocks as they would all look ideal with black tights if you don’t resent them like I do…
First up, my favourite dress brand Realisation Par and one of my favourite prints, monochrome polka dots. I blame Julia Roberts at the polo in Pretty Woman for this little obsession… I almost wish I had a winter wedding to wear this to, it’s too perfect for that kind of thing. Would look epic over high-waisted vintage jeans, with black tights and black patent boots for work and it’s beyond flattering thanks to the wrap style. Can you ever make a dress I don’t want to wear Realisation? I doubt it.
This little ribbed, t-shirt dress from Reformation with flared sleeves is one of my favourite things right now. Again, great with tights but equally would work right through till Summer thanks to its flippy length. To me, this is ideal for hosting at yours – no need to brave the cold so you can do bare legs and boots as everyone else arrives bundled up. I love the burgundy colour and for a clingy dress it’s pretty flattering thanks to the vertical ribbing (ahem) and the fit.
Just because it’s winter, doesn’t mean florals need to be banished to the back of your wardrobe. This sunny little Ganni wrap dress is desperate for Spring, but thanks to the black in it, it would work with tights or just a big thick jumper over it at home. This is the ideal transitional dress for me. Slightly longer in length, midi sleeves and the sweetest print.
Any yeah I’m aware you can kind of see my knickers. Soz.
More spots but this time from Asos. I love the little bubble sleeves and the fact it’s the ideal team mate to biker boots. I actually think this would look pretty cool with fishnets because it’s cute enough to tone them down.
