Philly with Free People
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to head to Philadelphia for three days with one of the city’s most-loved native brands, Free People. I’ve worked with Free People many times over the years, doing shoots with them everywhere from India, to the Maldives, to back to London, and having never been to Philly before, I was super excited to get to spend a couple of days in a new city with new friends from a brand I know and love. Plus, the lovely(and old, Alex Steadman from The Frugality was my partner in crime)
In addition to checking out a whirlwind tour of Philly, from Fishtown shopping and coffee, to lunch in center city and market-day in old city, we styled and shot five looks from the new Autumn Winter collection. Not too tough considering Free People’s offerings include a few of my favourite things. Embroidered, high-neck blouses; patent chunky boots, sheepskin coats, ribbed dresses and tops… And of course, trusty Levis, Vans and Converse to throw into the mix.
We were lucky enough to call the Free People office home for two days and it might just be the coolest, friendliest office ever. Huge, airy spaces full of colours and texture, rails of fabrics and vintage clothing for inspiration and every single desk If you happened to be following my stories while I was over there, you might have seen A LOT of dogs on there. The FP offices are dog friendly so there are so many little and large furry pals to be made as you’re walking to and from. One particular black pug puppy called Ziggy and I particularly bonded, so much so I stole him from his owners desk for the day and smuggled him into the shoot… Now more determined than ever to get myself a doggy of my own before too long.
So without further ado, here are my looks from the shoot. Check out the whole story on Free People’s site too.
