Vogue Germany Shoot
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to shoot an editorial for Vogue Germany’s online influencer series and thought I’d share the pics here with you guys, for no other reason other than I really, really like the photos by Alexander Meininger. It’s actually pretty rare for me to like portrait-style pictures of myself, hence why until recently most of my blog photos involved the age old trick of hair-over-face/head down. I feel like I’m getting more and more comfortable in my own skin as I get older and now know what works for me and what doesn’t (basically, less really is more for me).
The shoot was super laid back which is exactly how I like it. I did my own hair (as in, let it dry after the shower) and everyday makeup and rolled in and out of everyday favourites like ReDone jeans, black biker jacket and Realisation Par dresses and shirts. After having plenty of experiences in the now distant past where I’ve hated the photos from studio shoots, mainly down to not looking like myself and ending up with ringlets and smoky eyes, I love that these feel very ‘me’, goofy smile and all.
Big thanks to Alexander and Vogue Germany for having me and letting me free style for the shoot and for having me be part of this online portrait series. Danke!
