Full Metal Jacket
Because when the ultimate megastar model and all-round babe creates a collection with the denim brand that makes the softest, most comfortable jeans known to man, it definitely deserves some airtime.
Never one to shy away from anything that falls under the lurex umbrella, I magpied my way straight to this jacket when the new Rosie HW X Paige Denim collection launched. I’m not sure where my love of grainy metallics came from but it’s something I fall back on time and time again, especially when it comes to taking my everyday uniform to an altogether dressier, bolder place. While I love a good leather or denim jacket, there’s definitely room for something shiner from time to time as long it’s dressed down with black jeans, boots and hair that just won’t play ball (but that’s another story).
Just like those silver boots I was talking about recently, this is the kind of piece that you just kind of need to revel in its 80s glory. Hence why I teamed it with that Gucci tee, white shades and my beloved Prada bag. It’s all a bit much and that’s the point. It feels like there’s an extroverted mood in the air right now that seems to rubbing off on me, albeit in small, monochrome, metallic ways.
As for the jeans, as per usual these fit really well (and you get to size down in Paige which is always nice for the ego let’s be honest) but these have the added bonus of a slit on the inside seam and frayed hems sit over your boots for a really lengthening, undone finish for us short(ish) girls.
