Thigh High Introverts

Think thigh-high boots and the first image that comes to mind might be something in the extroverted category. The very idea of over-the-knees is incredibly sexy, showy and far from wall flower attire. I already have (and love) the taupe, flat version of Stuart Weitzman’s over the knee boots but felt like I needed their black, block-heeled cousins in my life. And with a brand-new flagship sitting pretty on London’s Regent Street, it’s an even more apt time to be putting my own, introverted spin on the brand’s signature kinky boots and yet again working to dress down just about everything I can get my hands on. The new store also has exclusives you can’t get anywhere else so worth popping in if you’re taking on Regent Street for Christmas shopping…

Back to those introverts and extroverts…. A good friend of mine recently introduced me to 16 personalities while we were on a trip together. If you want to do something insightful and kind of fun if (you’re geekily a fan of quiz-taking) on your lunch hour today, do this. Oh and it’s free so don’t worry, no weird sign-up or anything needed. My friend Drea actually said to me she thought we were the same personality type before I even did the test. Clever girl because she was totally on the money. I always thought, like many other people, that being an introvert means being shy and disliking spending time with people. Two qualities I can definitely relate to at times (!) but I wouldn’t say define me by any means. But actually, it’s more about where you derive your energy from (not nearly as new-age as it sounds). If you leave a party or big group feeling less energised than before (tick) or need to occasionally take yourself off for some re-charging alone time on a group holiday (tick), you’re probably an introvert. Turns out, I’m an INFP and it couldn’t be more apt… It even said I’d probably be good at blogging (let’s hope you guys agree!) which was pretty funny. I’ve since made every possible person that will let me do the test and it’s pretty amazing how apt the results can be if you really take your time over it how. Just make sure to answer really, really honestly… The weaknesses are a real giveaway whether it’s got you sussed or not. They couldn’t be more true for me anyway. Apparently I’m the same as Shakespeare (not quite sure how they assessed that one) and Julia Roberts which is good enough for me…

And it doesn’t get more INFP than camo, shades and black-on-black boots… I like to think it’s somehow perfectly toeing the line between blending in and making a point. Which, incidentally, might just sum me up in many ways too.
