Fan Girl Flares
I’m not immune to fan girling, especially when two favourites join forces for a seriously covetable collab.
Case in point, Elsa Hosk (swedish super bod aside, this girl has seriously enviable wardrobe and style to boot) and denim brand ReDone (the best high-waist jeans made from sourced vintage Levis) who teamed up to make the summer jeans you didn’t even know you wanted until now. As per usual, I was sceptical at first… Having only seen them on Hosk herself, I wasn’t convinced my non VS angel frame could pull them off. But eventually, I just decided to pull the metaphorical trigger and waited with baited breath for the inevitable customs charges. Still, once I got them into my hands a week or so later, I knew I’d made the right choice. They fit like a glove around the waist and strangely aren’t crazily long, even if they are more of a kick flare than a cropped kick flare on me. While I’ll admit I would have loved these to finish at the ankle a la Elsa, I’m kind of digging how they feel like my teenage tracksuit bottoms, Who remembers the days when you’d feel like a daredevil slicing up into the inseam of your trackies and flares so they’d swagger and sway with sass as you walked to class. These have a similar sense of nonchalance, especially when teamed with a teen spirit tee and knotted shirt. And if we’re on the subject of fangirling, the tee also deserves a mention… One of my favourite instagram crushes Courtney, aka AlwaysJudging, has worked her magic with beautiful basics brand Velvet tees. I think this white version might now be sold out but the all-black one is still good to go.
This is but the first of many appearances from these new Chloe sandals too. I hadn’t paid them much attention if I’m honest but quickly realised that these demure little bock heels are going to be my secret weapon this wedding season. They go with everything (even grungy jeans as it turns out), keep legs looking as long as possible and let you be that irritating girl that can be on her feet with not a single wince or wobble all evening. When it comes to cost per wear, let’s just say I’ve already worn these to three events in the last three weeks so am feeling pretty pleased with myself for these.
