Doing inspiration posts is nothing new for me and my blog, but this time I felt like I really needed to do one.
Sometimes, the need to be inspired week after week results in the exact opposite and recently I’ve been pushing through one of those lulls in creativity thanks to a number of factors. When this happens, I find the best thing (aside from disappearing to some far flung corner of the world) is to try and reconnect to what it is I actually like by creating folders and scrapbooks of favourite images. Being constantly connected digitally means that we’re looking at images all day everyday, and sometimes it’s hard to negotiate exactly what it is you like from that which you simply admire on others.
Skiing with my family has been amazing and tiring in equal measure, and after a week being partially disconnected from my inbox and my wardrobe, it feels slightly daunting and disheartening trying to get my head back in the game. So, I set about rounding up a gigantic folder of images pulled from all over the interweb in the hope of pushing myself back into gear and gathering some creative momentum again. And with the clocks springing forward by an hour over the weekend, I was given an extra nudge to push on and be productive. Even if my heart is telling me to set up camp on the sofa with a flash of green tea for the forseeable future…
It’s a little thing, but one that always really helps me when work mode feels like a mile away, and hopefully you’ll enjoy the proverbial fruits of my labour in this post. On another note, it quickly became clear from this image hoarding that brass furniture, blue jeans, fine gold chains, unbuttoned shirts, white kicks and pink food remain top of longtime love list.
