The Hunt Is OverFashion
When it comes to superficial non-essentials that are in fact vital, there are a few things that top the list; a hairdresser who actually gets you and takes off exactly how much you ask for (done), the perfect pair of leg-lengthening skinny jeans, a makeup bag full of complimenting, highlighting essentials you know how to use, a signature scent (Diptyque Vetyver for me) and last but definitely not least, a black leather biker jacket that will last a lifetime. And thanks to Belstaff, I think I just ticked off that last one…
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had good leathers before. My first ever biker from Topshop lasted 5 years and got a ‘where’d you get that’ on most outings, followed by close relationships with ones from Whistles and H&M, but neither have ticked every single one of my fussy boxes. But after almost 10 years of biker jacket hunting, I think I’ve finally found the ‘one’ in the form of this Belstaff dreamboat. Collarless, quilted and in the softest, doughiest leather I ever did wear, this one is definitely a keeper.
Think Belstaff and, second to David Beckham on a motorbike, I think of perfect leather, so its no surprise it was here I found my new forever friend. What I didn’t expect was a Pre Fall collection so in tune with my go-to Autumnal style. I’m talking tartan separates, chunky grey knitwear and black A-line skirts like this one that I’d be lost without come September. Even an out-and-proud sun bunny like me can’t help but look forward to the new season once a plethora of outerwear starts dropping in stores, and transitional collections like Pre-Fall make the move from summer to winter that bit easier.
But for now, you’ll just find me in the throws of a leathery honeymoon period with this guy….
